"A karate do-jo is much more than a place for
physical exercise. It encompasses all aspects of life, from personal
development, competition, achievements and business development to
lifelong friendships and relationships."
Sensei Junki Yoshida. |
| JAPAN KARATE FEDERATION RYOBUKAI N.W. |
Headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, the Japan
Karate Federation Ryobukai NW is an official affiliate of its parent
dojo in Tokyo, Japan, led by Grand Master Yasuhiro (Takehiro)
Konishi. The organization was originally formed in 1920 and has
successfully maintained the same high standards of discipline and
training upon which Ryobukai was founded.
Old Grandmaster Yasuhiro Konishi referred to his karate as Shindo
Jinen-ryu Karate Jutsu ("godly, natural style, complete empty-handed
way"). Konishi believed that those who walk a morally correct path
in this life naturally follow the divine way. He further contended
that pure karate training allows one the opportunity to expand their
knowledge and establish the solid foundation necessary to living a
moral life. Konishi's philosophies continue to perservere at the
Japan Karate Federation.
After many years of training karate students and police officers
throughout the Northwest, Chief Instructor Junki Yoshida established
a head dojo in Beaverton, Oregon in 1976. By popular demand, the
Japan Karate Federation has since expanded its classes by opening
karate schools in Portland, Gresham, Hillsboro, Salem, Seattle,
Battleground, Kent, Bellevue, Oxbow, Everett and Auburn, taught by
more than 50 black belt instructors.

Junki Yoshida is a 7th degree Black Belt and
founder of the Japan Karate Federation Ryobukai NW. He was born and
raised in Kyoto, Japan where he studied several forms of martial
arts throughout his childhood. Sensei Yoshida immigrated to the
United States in 1968 and earned numerous Free Form and Heavyweight

States competitions.
Now, an established leader in the international world of karate,
Sensei Yoshida currently holds such esteemed positions as Class A

success to the humble yet determined teachings of karate. Applying
such strong values in the business world led Sensei Yoshida to
establish himself as CEO and Chairman of the Yoshida Group, a

elements of growth in a leader, friend, parent and person.
